    Encouragement

Three encouraging scriptures for you from the Bible as of today, April 19th, 2012.  Let them speak to your heart and you ponder them.

Be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded. (2 Chronicles 15:7)

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and the more as you see the Day approaching.  (Hebrews 10:25)

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.  (Psalm 55:22)

Courage Requires Faith To Share With Others

Jeremiah was reassured by God that he was with him as he was sent out in Jeremiah 1:5-8.  ”The Lord gave me a message.  He said, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.  Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.”  Jeremiah replied “Oh Sovereign Lord”, I can’t speak for you!  I’m too young!”

Jeremiah Gives Excuses To Avoid Walking By Faith…Perhaps It Was Fear?

Jeremiah came up with an excuse why he couldn’t do what God had set up for him to do.  But God reassured him that he could and that he was with him.

“Don’t say that,” the Lord replied, “for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.  And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and take care of you.  I, the Lord, have spoken!”  Then the Lord touched his mouth and said “See, I have have put my words in your mouth!  Today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms….”  (Jeremiah 1:5-9) (the New Living Translation)

If God tells you to go, walk by faith and go.  Ask God for the words to speak and the courage to share with others.  Perhaps it is a kind word of encouragement to them or your testimony as a believer in Christ…whatever the case is, focus on being a light in this dark world.  An encouraging person to the people that God brings in your path throughout your day.

When was the last time your said “God Bless You” to someone?  How many people does God allow you to see and come in contact with in a given day at the market, work or at the gym.  You are an ambassador for Christ.  Be his spokesperson to others.  Live your life in a way that pleases God.

    • Has God told you to do something and you have resisted?
    • What is holding you back from going forward in the area that God told you to go?

    Words of Encouragement

Focus on being a servant to all.  When calling a vendor or someone in billing for an issue that you are trying to deal with, look for ways to be a blessing to that person on the other end of the line.

When you pray, pray with thankfulness.  In Philipians 1:3-7, Paul writes to the church at Philippi, a pray of thankfulness.  ”I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy…”  Thank God for everything he has given you and will give you in the future.  Have an attitude of thanksgiving in prayer.

Let the Peace of God Govern Your Heart

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by pray in supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:6,7)

This Day All Things Work Together for Good – Romans 8:28

There is a song on my heart today with this phrase “This Day All Things Work Together for Good”. I’m thinking it is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman or ??? Do you know? It refers to the scripture for today, Romans 8:28. God is working in our lives to fulfill his purpose. Rely on God for your decisions and listen to his wise counsel.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (New Living Translation)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.” (New King James)

The word “purpose” suggests a deliberate plan; something planned in advance. How is God working through your issues of life?

The Joy of the Lord is My Strength – Psalm 28 verse 7

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” Psalm 28:7  (New King James Version)

“The Lord is my strength, my shield from every danger.  I trust in him with all my heart.  He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.  I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”  Psalm 28:7  (New Living Translation)

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”  Psalm 28:7 (New International Version)
